Tuesday

March 3rd

Woke up for bfast and service at 9:30- 11:30. Ann drove us there and we then walked back. We went to teh soup Kitchen- it was well run and surprisingly clean. Our job was to clean up dishes after the men and women. It went okay. We walked back afterward just in time for lunch.

Everyone else was going to Penny's (really cheap clothing store) but Jen and I stayed back and watched 10 things i hate about you. Thank goodness we didn't go, because it was POURING as we were watching the movie. It would have been miserable walking back or even waiting for teh bus.

For the rest of the day we pretty much just hung around.

Monday

march 2nd

Today we were all so exhausted- for theology we had father Micheal. He was a cute old priest hah. he could tell we went on the paddywagon tour the weekend before- he said we all looked exhausted!

-after class we had lunch, did some laundry (FOR FREE!!) had art class at 3, and just hung around relaly. I did some of the art project, some of my paper, and some catching up on this blog. I talked to dad after dinner, and went to sleep later that night.

Not too much of an interesting day.

Paddywagon day 3

Sunday March 1st, 2009

- Waited for everyone to be ready so we could leave this morning to our next destination.

-Left Killarny and were on the bus for about a half hr until we came to County Cork- and Blarney.
We went to the Blarney Castle- walked around there for a bit; kissed the blarney stone, walked around eh park around the castle. Left Blarney after 1.

-We drove through Cork. I read while everyone else slept until we got to our next spot- Tipperary Rock- Gorgeous views of the city and fields. While we were on the rock there was a huge rainbow. It was so pretty.

-Got back onto the bus and headed home to Dublin. Arrived about 6:30. we were all really tired.

It was an amazing weekend and i had a blast! im so glad we all went togther and toured all of Ireland; well a big part of it anyway!

Paddy wagon day 2

Saturday February 28th, 2009

-Woke up, got dressed and ready and had breakfast at the hostel.

- We then went on the bus and rode to an area with a castle in the background on water. It was really nice and pretty there.

- We went back on the bus and drove to St. Brigits'- it was a well on teh side of the road. you had to stand on a platform in fornt of it and throw a rock over your shoulder if it landed in the water, your wish came true, if it bounced off the wall in back the opposite of your wish would happen. I didn't do it, because i didn't want to chance having somethign bad happen because i have bad aim.

- We then went to limsetone cliffs- there were wild cows b teh water there and really pretty views.

- We stopped for lunch at Fitzpatricks Pub i some town and got lunhc. I got shepards pie. it was really good.

-Cliffs of Moher= AMAZINGGG can't even describe it. We switched busses after seeing it because more ppl were coming on and we needed a bigger bus.

-We took a ferry over to county Kerry. it was aout a 20 minute ride. We drove through Kerry- and hr until Kilarny hostel- Neptune's.

- Went to a pub/restaurant called the Granery and watched the 2nd half of an Ireland vs England rugby match- where ireland won (14:13) so it was really exciting and fun. after the game they cleared a huge table for us and we all ate dinner.

-then we went out in Killarny. it was pretty fun. we didn't say out too late- had to get up early lol

Paddy Wagon---DAY 1

Friday Feb. 27th

-Woke up and left around 8 for the Paddy Wagon tour. All 18 of us went so it was nice to all go on a trip around Ireland together.
-Once we picked up everyone else, we went to the largest park in Dublin-Phoenix Park-- its actually one of the largest parks in Europe!-- Well we went and took pictures in an area there for a little bit.
-Once we were finished, we headed on the bus towards our destination- Galway. As we were on teh bus, there weer many farms and fields with cows, horses and sheep. Felt like driving through granville- but prettier!
- Stopped for lunch in a small deserted town on the way to Galway.
- Stopped at monastery ruins- spent some time there.
-Arrived in Galway at our hostel- St. john's people were separated into 3 rooms of 6 each- made it easy for us and them- felt safer to be with my friends too.
-After settling in, we headed out to "Shop St." - a street of cute little shops. We were looking for Claddagh rings.
-Went back to hostel- dinner at a restaurant the guide reccomended. We wnet out afterwards.
-Had an unwelcome surprise at 6:30 the next morning- the door must not have been all the way shut- someone came in thinking i was their room. Almost got into Jenn's bed---
" Who are you??"- Jen
" Get out.. Get out"- Kelly
" ..ahhhHHHHHH" Kim

Beauty Night

Thursday February 26th

-Today we had theology again where Sister Claire showed us a black and white video of St. Vincent De Paul's story.. in French. lol Thank goodness there were subtitles!

-We had our first weekly meeting in the common room where we signed up for different event coming up- like the game at Croke park and a music concert.

- Tonight we had a 'beauty night' with the RFM's that Ann put together. Someone from a salon came in to give us skin analyses and we did facials. It was fun!

-That night we stayed in and got ready fro our weekend at the Paddywagon tour that was leaving around 8 in the mornign.

Quinns.

Wednesday February 25th

-Today again i had no class, so i just hung around for a little bit.

-It was Ash Wednesday so i went to church with everyone at the church at school. it was pretty nice. We then went to lunch right after. After lunch, around 2 we had a meeting with a woman who was telling us about service we were going to be doing in Dublin. Everyone ws going to the soup kitchen to help out- They assigned us days to go. I am on tuesdays with Christina and Samantha.

-At night we went to the Cat and the Cage for a little bit. Then afterward we walked to Quinns, which is also near to our school- about a 10 minute walk maybe. It was fun. But today we learned that Irish guys all dance with eachother and like to lift up their shirts... just for fun. They thnk it is cool lol. They also like to jump into every picture you try to take! It was an experience. lol

Nothing really

Tuesday February 24th

Today nothing much went on. I didn't have class today so i didn't do too much. At night, i helped the girls tape their project for English- "the reenactment of the Irish Civil War". I ended up laughing through it so my taping skills are not my best- you can tell i was laughing because the camera moved up and down hah. It was funny though.

Check it out. Click here. :D

Dublinn

Monday February 23rd

-For our first breakfast we ended up having a croissant even though we were not in france! lol I thought i was going to get away form the croissants hah

-First day of classes! I had theology with Sister Claire. It seems like a really easy class. there is no final or midterm- only a final presentation at the end of the last week. Our class is Monday and Thursday. We have an hr and a half of class then about a half hour coffee/tea break at the coffee dock. Afterward we have about another hr that ends at 12.

-Then we had lunch. it was good and soo much foood.

-At lunch, we found out about an art class it was only 20 euro for 5 weeks. Kim, Brit, Kel and I decided to go. It was a lot of fun- The rfm's that live underneath us (aka Nuns), a few of them were also in the class. It was good bonding lol

-At night David came back from him being MIA since the last day of Paris- crazy story. lol

-We were just hanging out at night. I like the single rooms we have, but i miss the company- that's why we like all keep our doors open hah
